Welcome
to Bramlies Lodge
If you are looking for a self catering holiday away from the hustle
and bustle of every day life then here is the perfect holiday location
for you. Bramlies Lodge is a lovely detached 2 bedroom bungalow
in a quiet cul-de-sac in the beautiful Dorset village of Sydling
St Nicholas.
Free WiFi access available if you need to keep in touch with the
world!
Sydling is a
friendly village nestled in a picturesque valley in a Designated
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is 8 miles north of
the historic market town of Dorchester, which is the county town
of Dorset. Twelve miles north is Sherborne with its Abbey and 2
castles. Just over the hill is Cerne Abbas with its famous chalk
giant -The Cerne Giant - carved into the hillside. Also, being
just 16 miles from Weymouth with its’ beautiful safe sandy
bay and the stunning Jurassic Coast, which is a World Heritage Site,
you are perfectly situated for a holiday mixing both coast and countryside.
Sydling has a pub which serves excellent food and is dog friendly. There is a small post office (limited opening times). The surrounding countryside is organic and you can buy organic produce from the farm shop at Up Sydling. The area is ideal for walking, cycling and mountain biking. Around the village are some lovely flat walks, besides meandering streams and around the ‘chocolate box’ cottages, or for the more energetic there are fantastic walks/rides in the hills and valleys around the village. Cerne Abbas (2 miles away) has 3 pubs all serving good food, a tea shop and a village store for all the essentials.
The area is perfect for families with dogs and we are very happy
to welcome a well behaved dog by arrangement. The bungalow has been
refurbished with new carpets, bedding and furniture throughout.
It should also be noted, that although the garden is fenced, the
front wall is not very high, so will not deter determined escape
artists of the 2 or 4 legged variety!
Bramlies Lodge is also just 2 miles from The Southern Counties
Shooting Ground where the ISSF Shotgun World Cup is being
staged in 2010 .
Smoking is not permitted in the Lodge.
